We currently have vacancies for fire safety engineers and experienced fire safety professionals or persons with a background in building control to join the existing consultancy team.  

Fire Safety Engineering Consultant 

The successful applicant should have:

  • A degree in Fire Engineering.

  • A minimum of three years fire safety engineering experience.

  • An ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and British Standards.

  • Knowledge and experience of developing CFD models. 

The work will involve developing fire strategies for corporate clients, providing general fire safety advice, including advising on projects in existing buildings and new build schemes as well as completing fire risk assessments. 


This is an excellent opportunity for a fire engineer who wishes to develop their skills and experience by undertaking a varied range of work for our broad client base. 

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. A company car is provided.  This is a home based role with travel required.

Fire Safety Consultant

The successful applicant is likely to have:


  • At least eight years continuous recent experience in fire safety with a fire authority, possibly at supervisory level or equivalent experience in building control

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and British Standards.

  • Knowledge of fire engineering principles.

Much of the work will involve carrying out fire risk assessments for corporate clients throughout the UK, as well as providing general fire safety advice, including advising on projects in existing buildings and new build schemes.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. A company car is provided.  You should be based in the Midlands or North West of England.  This is a home based role with travel required.

 Position available: Client Support Co-ordinator

Company background:
A leading fire consultancy, established over thirty five years ago, seeks a client support co-ordinator to prepare reports, presentations and client materials. It requires an individual with excellent written English, including grammar and spelling, ideally with proof reading experience and strong IT skills in terms of using Word, PowerPoint and Excel. They should be a touch typist, with superb attention to detail. This should be combined with initiative, maturity, and a strong work ethic.

Key responsibilities:

·         Typing, formatting and first line quality assurance of documents

·         Typing general correspondence and emails

·         Liaising closely with several members of the technical team, to manage their workloads

·         General administration including filing of reports and correspondence

·         Supporting the training courses including coordination of production of materials

·         Support to the senior management team, particularly the Head of Deliverables

Skills/experience required:

·         Touch typing

·         Strong PC skills – ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and databases

·         Articulate with excellent communication skills (spoken and written English)

·         An approachable personality with a willingness to tackle a range of jobs

·         Ability to prioritise own workload to ensure KPI are met

·         Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent business experience

·         Car driver (due to rural location of the office)

Details:

·         Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 dependent on experience

·         Hours: 9.00am to 5.30pm

·         Holidays: 22 days per annum plus bank holidays

·         Contributary pension

 Position available: Office Administrator

Company background:
A leading fire consultancy, established over thirty years ago, seeks a strong administrator to assist with an exceptionally busy office in a supporting role. It needs an individual with initiative, maturity, and a strong work ethic. You must have at least three years’ experience in a corporate environment but ideally more. The ability to multi-task and assist implementing system changes is essential. The ability to thrive under pressure is an advantage. This role is required due to the continuing growth of the consultancy.

Key responsibilities:

·         Handling incoming telephone calls

·         General administration

·         First point of contact for client enquiries

·         PA support to the Directors as required

·         Supporting the training courses including taking bookings, liaising with the venue and providing general information to delegates

·         Support to the senior management team

Skills/experience required:

·         Articulate with excellent communication skills (spoken and written English)

·         Strong PC skills – ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and databases

·         Typing skills, ideally touch typing

·         An approachable personality with a willingness to tackle a wide range of jobs

·         Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent business experience

·         Car driver (due to rural location of the office)

Details:

·         Hours: 9am to 6pm (5.30pm on Fridays).

·         Salary: up to £25,000 dependent on experience.

·         Holidays: 22 days per annum plus bank holidays

·         Love of cats preferable, rural location and free parking
