- Developing an environmental management system to effectively manage its environmental impacts.
- Continually improving its environmental performance through the effective implementation of environmental improvement initiatives.
- Reducing, and where possible preventing, pollution through the effective and efficient use of resources.
- Complying with all relevant environmental legislation and other environmental requirements applicable to the business.
- Communicating this policy effectively to staff.
Specifically, CSTA will focus its efforts on the following.
- Developing and maintaining an effective strategy for carbon emissions reduction.
- Engaging its staff in initiatives to minimise environmental impact.
- Improving energy efficiency and water conservation within its offices.
- A zero waste to landfill goal through improving waste management practices to minimise waste generation, maximise the recycling and recovery of waste generated. To ensure generated waste is dealt with in a safe and responsible manner.
- Sourcing and procuring, where feasible more environmentally friendly goods and services.
- Encouraging sustainable travel amongst staff and visitors.
- To continue to invest in “Trees for Life”, an award-winning Scottish charity, to off-set our carbon impact and to re-wild the Scottish Highlands.
